The capital of Buryatia goes down in the history of Olympic movement

On 30 June, as part of Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad, a RED ROCKS TOUR concert was organized at the Sovetov Square in Ulan-Ude with the support of Sberbank. The capital of Buryatia has become the sixth city hosting this musical Olympic project in 2013.

Participants of TonySoprano, a young Moscow band, Ukrainian rock’n’rollers from Vopli Vidoplyasova and also Dolphin, one of the main Russian alternative performers, came on the stage in Ulan-Ude. Even a sudden rain could not disturb a seven-thousand audience who gathered at the square.

Indie-band TonySoprano, a participant of the last-year tour, was the first to perform this time. Some changes have occurred in the band over the last year: they invited a new charming girl singer and their new album is now in progress and will be presented very soon to the listening public. Their striking performance warmed up the audience before the incredible show demonstrated by Kyiv guest band Vopli Vidoplyasova. Their frontman Oleh Skrypka communicated with natives of Ulan-Ude enthusiastically in his native language introducing each song with his audacious jokes.

Dolphin was the headliner of the festival and his performance became a real excitement of the concert. The performer said during the press-conference that one of the reasons why he agreed to participate in the festival was the fact that he shared the very idea and mission of the RED ROCKS project. “It cannot be expressed with words how you feel listening Dolphin’s Silver performed alive under the summer rain,” music fans share their feelings in social networks.

As the other cities participating in the project, Ulan-Ude presented its voices for the Sochi 2014 Fans’ Anthem. The guests of the festival together with TonySoprano performed the Anthem and, thereby, made it into the history of the Olympic movement.

The trip all over Russia is underway and, as soon as on 6 July, the RED ROCKS festival organized as part of Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad with the support of Sberbank will make a stop in Kemerovo.
