RED ROCKS TOUR and Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad Visit Ryazan

Ryazan is the nineteenth city to participate in the RED ROCKS music marathon, with Sberbank as the general partner.

There were four performers in the concert held in Ryazan on 1 September. DJ Long Arm and Ruslan Gadzhimuratov, with their thirty-minute trip hop set, were the first to take the stage. The next was KRIP DE SHIN, a young Moscow band, with their electronic soul mix.

Brainstorm, a britpop band, continued the music marathon. The band has long been successful far outside Latvia, their native country, for their super hits such as My Star, Maybe and Vikhodnye (Weekend). Their track list included songs in Russian, Latvian and English. The fan zone had no difficulties with this multi-language material, supporting with its chorus of thousands of voices each track performed by the lead singer Renars Kaupers.

“I am happy that my birthday falls on the day of our performance at the RED ROCKS TOUR concert in Ryazan”, said Renars Kaupers at the press conference. At the same time the band shared their sounds that will take a place of honor in the online sample library of the RED ROCKS’ Music of the Future project. These samples will be used to create the national anthem of Sochi 2014 Olympic Fans during a live broadcast of the Music of the Future program.

The last to perform was MACHETE, an ambitions Internet project of TOKiO’s singer Yaroslav Maly, supported by an ovation of over 4,000 spectators. Over the eighteen months of their existence, the band has become a nominee of the Europe Music Awards 2011 and their music video has had millions of views on the Internet. The musicians cheered up the audience with their live performance of the most famous songs such as Nezhnost (Tenderness), Ne Rasstavaytes (Don’t Break Up), Patsany (Lads), as well as some new songs from their fist album to be released this summer.

Kaliningrad will be the last city for the RED ROCKS TOUR to visit this year, with a concert scheduled for 15 September.
