Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad presents the Olympic hits

On 14 December Cultural Olympiad and the General Partner of the Games - Sberbank is about to present a unique musical compilation “Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Hits”

The ten Olympic songs to be performed for the first time on air of “Avtoradio” station, a will be played at the public sites in Sochi during the Games in 2014.

In June 2012 the open national competition “Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Hits” was launched to become one of the key projects of the Year of Music of the Cultural Olympiad.

Within four months the contestants’ songs submitted from across the country were presented on air of “Avtoradio” station morning show. The 10 authors featuring on the “Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Hits” CD have been chosen from more than 500 bids by open voting on the radio station’s website. Among these lucky ones are authors and bands from Moscow, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ufa, Vologda and other Russian cities. After professional adaptation, the winners performed their hits together with Russian pop stars, including Valeria, Dmitry Koldun, Buranovskie Babushki and other performers.

All citizens of the Russian Federation of 18 years and older, regardless of their specialty, had chance to take part in the contest.

Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad provides a unique opportunity to every Russian citizen to represent the talents to become a participant of a major musical project. The collection “Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Hits” will contribute the Olympics cultural heritage.
