Sberbank and Visa together with the Russian Olympic Committee present the “Olympic team” Visa Classic card

Today, the Russian Olympic Committee, Sberbank, the General Partner of the XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, and Visa, the Worldwide Partner of the Olympic Games for more than 26 years, announced the launch of “Olympic team” Visa Classic debit cards under charity program.

The unique feature of the new card is that it can help any Sberbank customer support the Russian Olympic team and the development of sports in the country.

It works simply: Sberbank makes charges to the Russian Olympic Committee automatically, when you issue a card (50% of the annual fee for the first year) and for each transaction (0.3% of the transaction amount).

The “Olympic team” Visa Classic card account can be opened with any Sberbank’s branch. The card is issued for 3 years, only ruble account available. You can use it to pay in dozens of millions of retail outlets around the world and in online stores accepting Visa cards. The Sberbank “Olympic team” Visa Classic card is protected by an electronic chip. The card maintenance fee is one thousand rubles for the first year (450 rubles for each subsequent year). Holders of the “Olympic team” Visa Classic card get free access to the mobile and internet banking, and become a party to the “Thank You from Sberbank” bonus program.

The first holders of the new cards have become Aleksey Nemov, four-time Olympic gymnastics champion, Aliya Mustafina, champion of the London Olympic Games 2012 in gymnastics, and Lyudmila Titova, Olympic champion 1968 in speed skating. Solemn ceremony of the “Olympic team” Visa Classic cards presentation to athletes was held immediately after the press conference at the ROC building.

I think many people in Russia want to support the Russian team somehow, so it would win as many medals at the home Olympics in Sochi as possible.
