Sochi.Park Opens in London

Sochi.Park, a presentation site for the Olympic Games in Sochi, has opened in London’s Hyde Park. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov, and Sochi 2014 Organisation Committee President Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Sochi Park is part of the Russian complex Russia.Sochi.Park. Russia.Park and Sochi.Park are two parks that will be open during the Olympic Games in London.

The presentation of Russian culture, traditions, sports, and innovations in Sochi.Park falls under the common concept “Journey to Sochi”, with several theme zones. First, guests enter the “Visit Russia” zone where a video about Russia and Sochi is shown on a large screen.

After getting familiar with Russia, visitors go to the “Krasnodar Territory” zone where they can learn about the main features and traditions of the region. In that zone, guests will also be able to play interactive games, for example feel as if they were Formula One drivers, and have a picture taken of them under a giant sunflower, the unofficial symbol of the Krasnodar Territory.

Then guests move on to the Sochi 2014 global and national partners’ zone.

Sberbank invites Sochi.Park guests to go on an imaginary trip to the Sochi of 2014. Participants in and guests of the Olympics are welcome in the hospitable Gorki Gorod, a unique resort situated in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana and unparalleled in terms of the scale and standard of resort infrastructure in today’s Russia.

The resort is being built with financial support from Sberbank.

A Mountain Media Center for journalists reporting the mountain sports events (skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, freestyle skiing, ski jumping, and other sports) will operate there during the 2014 Games and a Museum of Olympic Fame will open when the Games are over.

It is a modern tourist and sports town based on a concept that suggests a brand new standard of living and recreation and provides ample opportunity to go in for sports.

It is a site where the concept was invented and then put into practice of the unique musical project Red Rocks, which combines a festival in the Krasnaya Polyana mountains, a concert tour of 40 Russian cities, and the “Music of the Future” project.

Red Rocks serves as the basis for creating a Sochi 2014 Fans' Anthem, in which everyone can take part.

Visitors to Sochi.Park will be among the first to visit Gorki Gorod, take a picture, and write a few words to encourage Russian athletes competing in London and preparing to compete in Sochi.

Support Russians in London!

See you in Sochi!
